Women’s Sexual Self-Exploration

Facing our own bodies with acceptance has long been discouraged by our cultural and social environment, particularly for women. Despite the sexual revolution, the introduction of birth control for women, and the feminist movement, the double standards surrounding sex remain widespread. Women are often confined to the role of the “second sex,” expected to be passive in their sexual desires and secondary in sexual activities. The fact is, many women prefer to seek security in life rather than new experiences or sexual satisfaction. However, everyone deserves sexual rights, and women, in particular, should have their own sexual rights. A woman’s sexual rights are not for men but for herself.

From the perspective of modern medicine and psychology, masturbation is an act of self-relief in response to sexual arousal. In the narrow sense, it refers to using one’s hands, while broadly, it encompasses various methods of stimulating the genitals or other erogenous zones to achieve sexual pleasure and orgasm. Some women have enjoyed leg-clenching from a young age, experiencing sexual arousal and pleasure through the motions of clenching and twisting their legs, and reaching orgasm when their legs are tensed straight. Women who have practiced leg-clenching from a young age may have developed stronger pelvic muscles, making them more likely to achieve orgasm and even experience the intense state of squirting.

Women without a history of leg-clenching or masturbation generally have less awareness of how to contract their vaginal muscles. Masturbation not only brings personal pleasure but also helps women discover their sexual sensitivity. When a woman understands masturbation, she learns to appreciate her own genitals, enjoy her orgasms, and approach sex with confidence. The importance of masturbation lies in its ability to dispel the myths surrounding sex. Society teaches women that they need to rely on men to achieve sexual satisfaction, but masturbation allows women to change the notion that the only way to experience sexual fulfillment is through vaginal intercourse with a man.

I believe that it is incredibly important for women to explore their own sexual stimulation on their own terms because not only can we independently bring ourselves pleasure, but we can also share intimate joy with others.
